Celebrating 45 Years of Impact and Resiliency at Victory Housing!
We are delighted to look back at the truly inspiring celebrations marking Victory Housing’s 45th Anniversary! This milestone, spanning nearly half a century, represents an incredible journey of dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to providing high-quality, affordable housing and assisted living services for seniors and families in Maryland and Washington, DC. Each passing year has strengthened our resolve and deepened our roots, and our 45th year was no exception—it was a period of immense gratitude and joyous reflection.
A Grand Evening of Gratitude: The Silver Spring Civic Center Celebration!
The pinnacle of our anniversary year was our official 45th Anniversary Celebration, held on the evening of April 23, 2025, at the magnificent SilverSpring Civic Center, Silver Spring, Maryland. The atmosphere was electric, with warmth, camaraderie, and a shared sense of accomplishment. We were incredibly humbled and honored to welcome over 200 distinguished guests,a gathering that truly embodied the heart of Victory Housing.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all local, state, and federal attendees, including the Honorable Adrianne Todman, former Acting HUD Secretary. We also thank Bishop Campbell, ADW, for leading the invocation and offering reflections. Special appreciation goes to the Montgomery County Council members: President Kate Stewart, Vice President Will Jawando, Gabe Albornoz, Andrew Friedson, Evan Glass, and Kristin Mink. We are honored for the presence of Diana Eisenstat from Senator Van Hollen’s office and Jessica Cook from Senator Alsobrooks’ office. Finally, we acknowledge Jim Brown, former CEO of Victory Housing, and Victory Housing’s Board of Directors, including Chairman Mike Gill, Maria Day-Marshall, Phil Downey, Sharon Wilson Geno, Donna Grigsby, Cathy Hilbushh, Maurice Perry, and Julie Smith.
During the event, the Silver Spring Civic Center transformed into a vibrant celebration, adorned to reflect our journey and achievements. Guests enjoyed engaging conversations, delicious refreshments, and the palpable sense of community that has always been the hallmark of VictoryHousing. This event was not just a celebration of a number—it was a powerful testament to the vibrant, compassionate community we have collectively built over four and a half decades. Every laugh shared, every memory recounted, and every new connection made during the evening underscored the profound impact Victory Housing has had on countless lives. It was an evening filled with joy, heartfelt appreciation, and a renewed commitment to our future.
We celebrated and expressed a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated community and corporate employees, the tireless individuals who work daily to fulfill our mission, who were recognized for their invaluable contributions. Strategic partners such as Montgomery Hospice, Home Call, Correct Rx, and Fox Rehabilitation, along with loyal vendors for decades such as FoodPro and Trimark, shared in the celebration.

A Day of Family Fun: The Cabin John Park Festival!
To launch our celebratory year, a 45th Anniversary Festival was held at the picturesque Cabin John Park in Potomac, Maryland. This outdoor festival was designed to be a vibrant, accessible celebration for everyone in our extended Victory Housing family, including residents, family members, volunteers, and employees from our assisted living, multi-family, independent senior communities, and corporate office, fostering a sense of togetherness and fun in a relaxed, natural setting.
The park buzzed with excitement as guests enjoyed various activities and amenities. Culinary delights from various popular food trucks energized everyone, offering diverse options to suit every taste. The air was filled with the delightful sounds of live music, setting a festive tone and encouraging impromptu dancing and sing-alongs. Perhaps most heartwarming were the inspiring performances by our talented residents and team members, who showcased their creativity and spirit, reminding everyone of the diverse talents within our organization.
A special and poignant moment of the day came when our esteemed President and CEO, Leila Finucane, took the stage to offer a heartfelt acknowledgment. She recognized the years of dedicated service from our incredible Victory Housing employees, whose unwavering commitment has been the backbone of our organization’s success. Their passion and hard work have touched thousands of lives, and this recognition was truly deserved. The festival was an excellent opportunity to celebrate our collective achievements, to enjoy each other’s company, and to honor our incredible residents and the dedicated individuals who make Victory Housing such a special place.
