In November, 2017, the TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank® made a $125,000 grant to Victory Housing in support of the Victory Haven project currently under development in Damascus, Maryland, through its 2017 Housing for Everyone grant competition. Victory Haven will be a new construction 72-unit rental apartment building for mixed-income seniors on Main Street (Maryland Route 108) in downtown Damascus. There will be 54 one-bedroom and 18 two-bedroom units, with 65 units (90%) reserved for seniors earning a range from 60% down to 30% of area median income. The $23.5 million project is expected to begin construction in mid-2018 and be completed the following year. “We take our commitment to our communities seriously, and the Housing for Everyone campaign enables us to enhance our economic support for the neighborhoods we serve,” said Mike Rayder, Donation and Foundation Manager, TD Charitable Foundation. “We are honored to partner with organizations that are providing individuals with a chance to live in their own home and build a future.”
Victory Housing President Leila Finucane said that “we value our partnership with the TD Charitable Foundation. Grant funds like these are an important part of making our affordable housing communities possible.”
